Position Summary
The Systems Administrator III is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of enterprise Windows infrastructure, Active Directory services, virtualization platforms, and backup/recovery systems. This role provides Tier III technical support for complex infrastructure issues, ensures system availability and security, and serves as a technical resource for the IT team. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with strong troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Active Directory & Windows Administration
- Administer, maintain, and support Active Directory environments, including:
- Group Policy Objects (GPO)
- Replication
- User and group management
- Permissions and security
- Manage and support Windows Server and Windows desktop operating systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Active Directory, Windows Server, and related infrastructure issues using industry best practices.
- Implement system security, configuration standards, and performance improvements.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to IT team members.
Systems Administration, Backup & Recovery
- Monitor enterprise systems, alerts, logs, and overall system health.
- Administer enterprise backup, restore, and archive (BURA) solutions.
- Perform disaster recovery testing and support data restoration requests.
- Maintain system documentation, procedures, and configuration records.
- Accurately document all work within the organization's IT Service Management (ITSM) platform.
Tier III Technical Support
- Provide advanced desk-side and remote support for escalated technical issues.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot software within a primarily Microsoft Windows environment, with limited support for iOS devices.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and application issues.
- Coordinate with hardware and software vendors to resolve complex technical problems when necessary.
Communication & Service Management
- Deliver exceptional customer service through effective communication with end users and technical teams.
- Manage assigned ticket queues while meeting established service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Provide timely status updates and ensure accurate documentation of incident resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support enterprise initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Hands-on administration of VMware virtualization platforms.
- Experience with enterprise backup, restore, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory administration, including:
- Group Policy
- Replication
- Security
- Permissions
- Experience administering Windows Server and Windows operating systems.
- Proficiency with remote support tools and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Education & Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional systems administration experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent assignments in a dynamic environment.
Required Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure in medium-to-large organizations.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring and logging solutions.
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
Contract 6 months, with possible extension
Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
Pay: $37.72 to $45.29
