The Communication Specialist will work closely with the Corporate Communications Director to curate content that is communicated in a timely and effective manner to the intended audience while ensuring alignment with the company's core values and objectives.
PRIMARY DESIGN & CONTENT CREATION FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Select appropriate stock imagery to create graphics that showcase upcoming events.
- Design 8x11 yers, 11x17 posters, large display boards, welcome signs, and other print/digital material for large group distribution and/or events.
- Understand various client branding differences and meet strict deadlines.
- Update website content using WordPress or similar.
- Capture footage (video and photos) at off ite events.
- Organize les on Microsoft SharePoint and sort through best images/footage captured. Must have a keen eye for detail.
- Familiarity with digital software and programming to enhance organizational productivity to include, video conferencing, online team collaboration through shared calendars and task planning productivity apps.
- Adobe software experience preferred: InDesign, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator, and/or Express Canva or similar.
- Must have knowledge of design composition, typography, color-theory, color contrast and essential formatting basics (margins, indents, spacing, headings etc.) ADA design compliance knowledge a plus.
- Design PowerPoint presentations based on provided research/written contentprovided to designer.
- Must conceptualize main points to decipher and create headers, categories, and brief descriptions to improve the user/reader/viewer s experience.
- Write engaging/exciting event descriptions for eblast noti cations to include subject heading, preview text, and body email. Implement marketing strategies.
- Promote educational content based on organizational culture.
- Highlight client successes through monthly communication updates.
- Implement client and supervisor feedback to ensure material meets client and organizational standards. Must be able to implement revisions timely and completely.
- Communicate with all team members on project status and areas that provide a roadblock for successful completion. Professional and frequent communication required to immediate supervisor.
- Proof-read and edit written material for clarity, adjusting sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation when necessary.
- Ability to compile short video clips; video editing preferred.
ADDITIONAL OFFICE ADMINSTRATION FUCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answer incoming participant calls and inquiries as needed.
- Data entry regarding participation rates, preferred activities, marketing campaign open rates and event feedback.
- Office supply ordering.
- Use of off ce equipment: copy/fax machine, paper cutters, internal phone transferring, printer settings, paper sizes and quality etc.
- Capture office meeting minutes note taking.
- Assist with printing requests and gathering of material for events.
- Other duties, as assigned.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Knowledge
- Strong graphic design experience and established marketing writing style.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written to all levels of an organization, vendors, and participants.
- Interpersonal skills appropriate for interaction within all levels of an organization and participants.
- Strong work organization, time-management, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with proven ability to provide results in a timely manner and communicate project status.
- Content conceptualization and execution - ability to formulate idea onto paper and execute task in its entirety from concept to completion.
- Hands-on approach to problem solving and analysis.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Advanced / Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Off ce Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Pro cient in creative writing, content creation, website management.
- Familiarity with design software Adobe Creative Cloud apps.
- Pro cient in communication platforms for large electronic distributions.
- Results-oriented, team approach; customer focused with strong integrity and ethics.
Formal Education & Job-Related Experience
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, communications, journalism, healthcare / health & wellness, business administration, marketing, or similar discipline or equivalent work experience; and/or design certi ed.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years or more of experience in a professional business client servicing environment in the eld of project/program management, medical, wellness, or other healthcare off ce setting preferred.
- Health bene ts and/or corporate wellness program knowledge preferred.
- Valid Driver's License required

Schedule: Monday to Friday; 20-30 hours a week (business hours are 8:30am to 5pm)
Pay: $22 to $25, commensurate with experience, professional demeanor, contribution
