Accounting Assistant
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant that focuses on accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and some clerical tasks. The ideal candidate needs to have strong communication skills and be extremely accurate. Experience with cost accounting is a plus. This role requires basic experience in QuickBooks and a proactive approach to invoicing and bill pay.
Responsibilities
- Verify Purchase Orders to packing slips, enter item receipts in QuickBooks, match receipts to invoices and enter in QuickBooks. Copy documents associated with these.
- Generate invoices, receive payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Assist in processing weekly payroll in a timely manner with an extremely high level of accuracy.
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks - Desktop.
- Perform clerical duties (data entry, database management, copy). Excel and Word experience required.
Qualifications
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
- Familiarity with invoicing and bill pay procedures.
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Some QuickBooks experience required.
- Cost accounting experience strongly desired
- Familiarity with invoicing and bill pay procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Placement: Temporary with the possibility to be contract to direct
Pay: $20.00/hour- $30.00/hour (depending upon experience)
Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8:00 3:30 (30 min lunch) Approximately 30-40 hrs/wk. We can be somewhat flexible with the schedule
